Role Summary:

We are eager to connect with an experienced Software Architect to take on a leadership role within our client's organization. As part of your role, you will spearhead the design and build phases of new products, improve upon existing ones, and serve as a mentor and guide to the software development team.

Please note, the successful candidate must reside in Edmonton as this role requires working from the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and guide the development of web applications using .NET and C#.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements and deliver scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Implement and integrate Web API 2.0 (Core 5.3.0) services.
  • Lead the design and optimisation of SQL Server databases.
  • Promote the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices in software development and architecture.
  • Safeguard sensitive educational data in-line with industry standards and regulations.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and innovation within the team.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Leverage cloud-based solutions effectively.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Leadership skills, excellent communication, and collaboration mindset.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in software development with significant emphasis on .NET Core and .NET Framework.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cloud services and microservices architecture.
  • Expertise with modern front-end frameworks such as ReactJS, Angular, etc.
  • Proficiency in handling database technologies including SQL Server, MongoDB.
  • Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations using SAML/OpenId.
  • Familiarity with IIS and Nginx web server configurations.
  • Ability to think strategically, align and drive technology initiatives to meet business goals.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of data science and analytics is a plus.
  • Experience implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of data security standards and regulatory compliance.
