Summary:Reporting to the Category Manager, the Associate Category Manager supports the achievement of company goals. Primary responsibilities include merchandise planning for our retail stores and eCommerce platforms for fishing/marine, sourcing, selecting, and vendor negotiating for products. This position is also responsible for the execution of the product life cycle in all channels of business.Location: Corporate Office, 25 De Baets Street, Winnipeg (hybrid)Responsibilities:Contribute to the development and management of assortment, pricing, promotional planning, markdowns, and retail/eCommerce communicationProvide support to attain financial performance goals, related to sales, gross margin, and inventory productivityCollaborate with both internal and external partners to help achieve company objectives.Perform category-level analysis of product performance across all channels for use in driving future planning and executionsDrive Omni Channel promotional executions and visual merchandising strategies at retail and in the eCommerce spaceConduct competitive analysis on catalogs, retail ads, websites, and all other direct media for pricing strategies, and product offeringsMonitor and provide recommendations as needed on discontinued products, overstocks, and inventory agingPartner with Visual Merchandising Team to provide direction for planogram and product positioning at retailPartner with eCommerce team to drive digital executions and promotional activitiesOther duties as assigned by managementQualifications:Post-secondary education in business administration or an equivalent combination of related education and experience2 - 4 years in category management, retail, administration, or logistics and supply chainExcellent computer skills in MS Excel including strong knowledge of pivot tables and formulasStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with external vendors and internal departmentsExperience negotiating and strong analytical skills with attention to detailKnowledge/experience in fishing or marine and associated products is preferred
