Position Summary We are looking for a professional and safety-oriented Class 1 Owner Operator, with a team. You must have the ability to work well with minimal supervision and have a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks promptly and safely. You must have a passion for driving safely and defensively on the roads, for yourself and for others. You are not afraid of hard work and you are able to perform well in a fast paced and physically demanding environment. Location: Surrey , BC Start Time : Varies Schedule : Varies (Required open availability) Competitive mileage rate Must be comfortable driving to Various regions in CAN (British Columbia, Alberta) and US (Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona) Open for night and day driving Open for 3-5 days out What you will do Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations. Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition. Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods. Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured. Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport. What You'll Bring Valid Class 1/AZ License is required Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events) Must have minimum 2 years of highway and mountain driving experience Truck should not be older than 6 years Open to drive at night Open to use Manual/ Electric pallet jack, Loading/ Unloading and hand bombing Must have excellent communication and customer service skills Comfortable with smartphone technology Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations Must be bondable and legally able to work in Canada Along with the following Skills & Competencies: Shipping Documentation DOT Regulations Loads/Secures /Unloads Cargo Maintain Travel Logs Transport Cargo Vehicle Safety Checks Vehicle Inspection Why people love working for Canada Cartage Cohesive team and a positive, hard-working atmosphere.
