Belcan is excited to be supporting our rail client in the Toronto market place in hiring a principle contracts manager for a full time direct hire position. Salary range:
$180k-200k (plus other benefits)

Responsibilities

-Responsible for management of contracts with customers, vendors, suppliers, partners, or employees. This includes contract drafting, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk.

-Negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with them.

-Documenting any changes/amendments that may happen during execution of the contract.

-Creating and maintaining contract database for easy access and retrieval.

-Managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager.

-Ensuring the identification of opportunities to minimize contract risk and plan commercial risk mitigation strategies.

-Ensuring the provision to BU Regions of the needed information related to the following areas:

-Definition of Contract Management processes, procedures, guidelines, forms and templates.

-Providing commercial assessment of terms and conditions, risks, and assumptions during Bid Phase.

-Monitoring, supporting, and reporting on all customer, JV/Partner, and sub-contractor contract-related commercial impacts and risks.

-Developing, implementing and ensuring compliance of appropriate strategic commercial approach, based on contract type.

Qualifications

-Strong knowledge of P3 Contracts. (Public-Private Partnership- P3).

-Experience Legal Litigation.

-Tertiary qualifications in engineering discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical or Civil.

-Tertiary qualification in Construction Management.

-Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, preferably RICS qualified.

-10 plus years of expertise in contract and/or commercial management experience.

Pay range and compensation package - $180k-200k (plus other benefits)

Education and Experience

-Post graduate qualifications in construction law, dispute resolution or contracts management are highly desirable

-Minimum 15-years" experience in the railway/infrastructure/construction industry of which at least 8-years was in senior contract & commercial roles in complex technical or engineering based organization

-Minimum 5 years experience of managing medium to large-scale design/build or EPC projects
