Foundation Health Centre is currently seeking a talented Physiotherapist to join our well established and growing team.
Foundation Health Centre is a locally owned and operated multi-disciplinary healthcare clinic conveniently situated in the heart of downtown Fredericton. The clinic was established by an experienced team of healthcare professionals. Our primary goal is to provide comprehensive and quality healthcare services to referred clients within one facility. Combining easy access to a client centered service delivery model the clinic’s mission is to improve each client’s quality of life while delivering first rate client service.

Our team has a reputation for providing superior health services that positively impacts our clients’ lives. The Physiotherapist provides physiotherapy services to individuals who have acute and chronic health conditions to enable them to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. You will perform assessments of clients’ physical performance utilizing an evidence-based approach, then plan and implement outcome-oriented services. Additionally, the Physio is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the services, preparing and maintaining records, demonstrating safe and effective resource utilization and quality management.

Assess clients who are affected by acute and chronic health conditions by considering their personal context, goals, interests, needs, safety, environment, and resources by utilizing an evidence-based approach, reviewing records, interviewing the client, gathering information relevant to the situation and determining suitability of services to ensure physical performance issues important to the client are addressed.

- discuss service implementation options;
and determine sources and duration of service to meet identified short and long-term client goals.

- Plan outcome oriented physical therapy services by collaborating with the client, caregivers/family and other health care providers

- Implement physical therapy services utilizing diverse intervention approaches by carrying out the plan, engaging the client in activities associated with treatment goals, assessing, and modifying the implementation, and identifying completion criteria to promote, develop, maintain and/or restore client quality of life.

- Provide education and counseling to clients/families regarding the functional and rehabilitation issues of clients in the areas of functional ability and any required modifications to personal life, education, leisure and/or work;



- Provide information and guidance to other caregivers, health service providers, staff and other community agencies as required.

Passionate about helping clients attain goals to achieve a better overall quality of life.

- Technical knowledge on ways to reduce chronic pain and associated symptoms.

- Ability to identify emotional, social, or environmental barriers and intervene to eliminate stigma.

- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients, families, team members, other groups, and community agency personnel.

- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.

- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act as it applies to the rights and obligations of clients and staff.

- Ability to teach and empower clients to assume control over their health.

- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others in a complex health care environment.

- Ability to recognize when referral to another health care professional is required.

- Basic computer literacy, knowledge of clinical standardized tests and measures.

- Skilled in the use of equipment and the techniques appropriate to physical therapy treatment.

Baccalaureate in Physical Therapy

- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA)
