VP of Accounting and Finance, Real Estate

Salary:
150-200K (depending on candidates skills and experience)

Real Estate developer that has been around for decades. The employer seeking to grow their team and this is a newly created role as there had been a re-restructure in their leadership team due to retirement.

About the role:

  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner;
    clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
    collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.
  • Oversee the corporate consolidated cash flow and make decisions based on its financial health.
  • Work on creating complex financial models and collaborate with development team to work on projects proformas
  • Support the team with banking and investors relationships and work with senior leadership on feasibility analysis and strategic direction of the organization
  • Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities for the company.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors;
    assess any changes necessary.
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the president;
    administer and review all financial plans and budgets;
    monitor progress and changes;
    and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
  • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  • Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system;
    ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Regularly produce financial reports or statements.
  • Support the accounting team where needed and help with their growth and retention
  • Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses;
    coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data;
    preparing special reports.
  • Maintain financial security by establishing internal controls.

Job Requirements:

  • Looking for candidates with experience in the Real Estate space or leaders coming out of public practice with a real estate focus.
  • Related accounting education
  • Relation accounting designations (CPA,, CFA).
