Job Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada is currently looking for a Capture & Business Development Manager. In this role you will have the opportunity to directly influence our Land C4ISR strategy, as well as lead/contribute to capture activities related to this capability. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic initiatives, taking the lead in influencing business development, and contributing to critical program capture processes including Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposals (RFP).
Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly contribute to strategy, business development and business capture related to the Land & Joint business unit through ownership of select campaigns and captures related to Canadian program captures;
  • Ensure a high level of customer intimacy, fostering growth and capture activities.
  • Manage existing customer relationships while cultivating and expanding connections within our target customer group.
  • Lead the capture manager and proposal manager team in key activities, including pursuit decisions, bid confirmation gates, formal management reviews, and critical proposal development milestones.
  • Leading, Involvement in, and providing input on (RFI) and (RFP) as well as leading and contributing to business cases, competitive analysis and strategic plan development
  • Actively participate in various elements of our marketing and sales programs.
  • Represent the organization in trade shows, contribute to press releases, and play a key role in the development of marketing materials, white papers, and briefings.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • At least 10+ years project management, engineering and/or business development experience, preferably in the defence industry sector;
  • 10+ years of previous experience in developing and leading teams around business captures (RFIs/RFPs), preferably within the defence industry sector;
  • Strong communication skills with direct application to proposal development;
  • Desire and capability to interact effectively with the customer base to influence, negotiate, assure a level of intimacy and satisfaction, and grow the assigned portfolio.
  • Capability to provide effective briefings to senior management both internally as well as externally within our customer base.
  • Be willing to travel (10-15%)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Software or related technical/engineering degree
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
