This role involves managing development projects and corporate entities' monthly accounting and reporting cycles. The ideal candidate will support project managers with financial analysis and information requests, contributing to various aspects of a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records for stakeholders.
  • Conduct monthly accounting close procedures.
  • Oversee full-cycle accounts payable: posting entries, issuing cheques, and reconciling vendor accounts.
  • Analyze and reconcile monthly progress billing invoices for construction projects.
  • Prepare financial statements promptly.
  • Update financial models monthly for budget changes and new contracts.
  • Execute daily financial transactions, including wires and loan requests.
  • Provide financial analysis and information retrieval for senior executives.
  • Prepare compliance filings (HST, Corporate Tax) and collaborate on year-end financials with external accountants.
  • Assist in obtaining land and construction loans.
  • Prepare and distribute investor reports, budget approval sheets, financial statements, and capital calls.
  • Assist in distributing the monthly development plan and perform other related duties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with professional accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA) or active progress in a CPA program is an asset.
  • 2 years of experience in a related role or corporate accounting and tax environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
