We are hiring an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for our client in Maitland, ON. This is a full-time permanent on-site position, and the company will pay for reasonable relocation.The EHS Manager creates long term value by ensuring risks are identified and mitigated while sustaining performance improvement and striving for EHS excellence.The EHS Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the EHS compliance programs and systems. This position will lead the EHS programs and assist in ensuring compliance with pertinent laws and regulations.Responsibilities:Coach and mentor employees to facilitate ownership of Safety & Health Compliance and risk awareness at all levels of the organization.Providing proactive leadership and direction to achieve the EH&S vision through management commitment and employee ownershipDeveloping and aligning facility EH&S programs and strategies according to the business/enterprise EH&S planConducting routine and non-routine EH&S reporting including government interactionsEnsuring the EH&S vision is developed and integratedFostering an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding EH&SEnsuring EH&S system elements are integrated into the line organization's responsibilities and expectationsLeading the development of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying, and evaluating hazardsConduct workplace investigations, audits and assessmentsPartnering with facility leadership to develop short and long-term EH&S objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risksEnsuring the development, improvement, and implementation of training systems to meet facility needs utilizing qualified instructorsQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Safety & Health, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, and/or related field5 years in a safety-related role in an industrial/manufacturing facilityCertified Safety Professional (CRSP), or equivalent certificationExperience conducting incident investigations and developing corrective and preventative actionsExperience using and applying effective EHS Management SystemsExperience and working knowledge of OHSA and or OSHA regulations and complianceExperience developing site regulatory compliance programs and trainingProficiency using Microsoft Office software (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)What you will get:Competitive SalaryBonusVacationCompany matching pension planRelocation AssistanceGreat training, culture and leadership in placeWe thank all candidates for their interest in this role, however, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the interview.
