We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Food, Health and Safety Coordinator to support our Plaza Premium Lounge operations across Western Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with provincial food safety and occupational health and safety regulations. Working closely with the Food Safety & Hygiene Manager and local airport lounge teams, you will help maintain high operational standards by conducting inspections, supporting audits, delivering staff training, and fostering a culture of safety and cleanliness. This is a multi-site role that requires strong organization, communication, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement in both food safety and workplace safety.

FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist the Food Safety and Hygiene (FSH) Manager in verifying hygiene and sanitation processes across all lounges.
· Develop, implement, and evaluate Food Safety and Quality Assurance policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with Canadian legislation and industry guidelines.
· Manage prerequisite programs that support the Quality Management System (QMS).
· Ensure accurate implementation and adherence to Quality policies and programs to guarantee food safety and compliance with company standards.
· Support internal auditing and actively participate in employee development related to food safety.
· Create, support, and facilitate training programs to enhance awareness and compliance with food safety requirements.
· Effectively lead facility staff to build and reinforce a strong food safety culture.
· Help maintain and update cleaning logs, and coordinate deep cleaning schedules for all lounges.

HEALTH & SAFETY (H&S) RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop, implement, and evaluate Health & Safety policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with relevant Canadian legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
· Plan, develop, and implement procedures to prevent operational safety hazards in the workplace.
· Conduct biweekly workplace inspections to ensure H&S compliance, including maintenance of safety boards, up-to-date policies, and required postings. Submit inspection reports to HR.
· Review and lead job site safety compliance, including hazard analysis, risk assessments, and safe work procedures; Manage and promote effective health and safety programs in both union and non-union environments.
· Serve as Chair of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) for the region:
o Act as the key point of contact between management and employees for health and safety concerns.
o Ensure compliance with provincial JHSC regulations and training requirements.

Diploma or certificate in Food Science, Environmental/Public Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
· Food Safety Certification (e.g. FOODSAFE Level 1 & 2); HACCP and WHMIS 2015 certifications are assets.
· Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification as per WorkSafeBC requirements.
· 2–4 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or occupational health & safety, ideally in hospitality, food service, or aviation environments.
· Solid knowledge of provincial food safety regulations, public health inspection standards, and WorkSafeBC and WCB occupational health and safety regulations.
· Experience conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
· Strong ability to lead safety training, support compliance initiatives, and foster a culture of safety and sanitation.
· capable of working independently across multiple sites.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with safety or audit management systems is an asset.
· Flexibility to travel to other provinces as required.
