Purpose of the role

TerraFixing has demonstrated a small-scale novel gas separation & purification process and system for direct air capture of carbon dioxide. We are now scaling up the technology and preparing for a demonstration project. As an Assembly Technician, you will be supporting the Engineering team in all aspects of process assembly and commissioning from concept through execution.

The overarching Responsibilities include:

  • Install and assemble process equipment based on technical specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Participate in inspection and commissioning tests to verify correct assembly and operation of the equipment installed.
  • Participate in HazOp, FMEA and Risk assessment of the system design.
  • Operate process equipment based on procedures developed by the team.
  • Participate in troubleshooting equipment as required. Perform repairs and maintenance as is required.
  • Identify, procure, and maintain tools required to perform installation and assembly tasks

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • 10 to 15 years very hands on experience installing, assembling, and operating process equipment such as pumps, compressors, piping systems, heater, and common chemical process instrumentation.
  • Experience working with electricians and building contractors.
  • Well organized; experience with implementing 5S organizational methodology.
  • Certification to operate a forklift.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong sense of accountability and a desire to continually improve oneself.
