Line Cooks The Shaughnessy Restaurant is one of Vancouver's most picturesque restaurants that is located in Van Dusen Botanical Garden. At Shaughnessy everything is made in house and we forage from Van Dusen Garden to give our guest a unique experience. Shaughnessy restaurant is a destination for groups and events, we serve a full catering program as well a la carte. Festival of lights is a major event and season at Shaughnessy. We have Full-time or part time openings available with flexible schedules, Wages are based on experience, plus gratuities. Extended benefits available dental and drug plan after probation period. Join us and be part of an exciting place to work Duties and Responsibilities Be enthusiastic, outgoing, positive and upbeat. Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food items Prepare, arrange and serve food according to standards set by BC's Food Safety Act Ensure that food is of correct quality and standard Maintain a clean and organised work area and ensure proper food safe procedures are followed Ensure fridges, freezers, storage room and work areas are left tidy and organized Ensure items are available for next day's menu. Report any issues to the Chef Control cost by minimizing spoilage, waste and exercising portion control Ensure food is properly stored and wrapped Qualifications Excellent communication and organizational skills Two years minimum experience Grill and Brunch experience an asset Culinary school training preferred but not necessary Be enthusiastic, outgoing, positive and upbeat. Passionate for food Hardworking and dedicated Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills Highly responsible and reliable Attention to detail MUST HAVE RIGHTS TO WORK IN CANADA OR VALID VISA Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour Benefits: Discounted or free food Flexible schedule On-site parking Work Location: In person
