The Health & Safety Coordinator is accountable for safety training, accident prevention, inspections and audits, incident investigation, and reporting. Training Program Development: Develop, update, and customize safety training programs to meet the specific needs of the organization. Ensure that training materials and content are up to date with the latest regulations and industry standards.
Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of safety training programs, and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and results.
Compliance Monitoring: Stay current with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards. Ensure that the organization complies with all applicable safety laws.
Safety Policies: Collaborate with the safety team to develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures. Ensure these are communicated effectively to all employees.
Maintain detailed records of training activities, participation, and completion. Generate regular reports on training progress and areas that may require additional attention.
Emergency Response Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, drills, and exercises to prepare employees for various workplace emergencies.
Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a safety-conscious culture within the organization by fostering awareness, involvement, and commitment to safety among all employees.
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Education, or a related field.
~ Relevant certifications or training qualifications are a plus.
~ Proven experience in safety training and program development, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
~ In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and other relevant authorities is required.
~ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex safety concepts clearly.
~ Proficiency in using various training tools and software for curriculum development and delivery.
~ Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety concerns.
~ Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
~ High commitment to safety and a passion for promoting a culture of safety.
~3 years or more of experience in Manufacturing Facilities/Production-based environment is an asset.
~ Previous safety coordination experience is an asset.
~ Ability to speak and write in both official languages is a strong asset.
