Ottawa ON, Canada Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists Association canadienne des technologues en Full time

The Director of Education (DoE) is responsible for the leadership and management of the entry level certification process and related activities, continuing professional development activities for medical radiation technologists and the leadership of Internationally Educated MRT initiatives.

Description

About Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists

Overview

The Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is the national professional association and certifying body for radiological, nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance imaging technologists, and radiation therapists. Recognized at home and internationally as a leading advocate for the profession of medical radiation technology, the CAMRT is an authoritative voice on the critical issues that affect its members and their practice. Established in 1942, the CAMRT today represents over 11,000 members.

With delegated authority from the provincial regulatory bodies for the profession of medical radiation technology, as the national certifying body CAMRT develops and administers national certification exams for the four disciplines among its membership; only Quebec has its own exam. The exams test against a pre-determined standard that is reflective of the competency required to practice safely and effectively at the entry-to-practice level in the current Canadian healthcare environment.

As the national association, CAMRT serves and supports its members to provide patients with the highest quality of medical imaging and radiation therapy care. Chief among its numerous member benefits and services, CAMRT is a leader in the provision of an extensive suite of continuing professional development full length courses, quick self-studies, specialty certificate programs and webinars.

CAMRT is governed by a Board of Directors and supported by numerous committees of member volunteers. The CAMRT works in close collaboration with the provincial organizations and regulatory bodies.

The CAMRT is a fully remote workplace and has a staff of 25 full-time employees.

The Strategic Plan 2022-2026 of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is intended to focus our activities while we continue to meet the goals of our mission and vision. The Strategic Directions will shape our activities by focusing us on key shifts needed in policy and direction and/or by reinforcing the importance of some of the activities we have already embarked on. The goals will guide us in service to members, CPD, certification, training, best practice support, advocacy, communications and marketing, organizational decision-making, and collaborative activity so that our organization and our members can evolve to meet challenges in the years ahead.

The Director of Education will be an integral member of the CAMRT’s senior management team, led by the CEO and working alongside Directors of Professional Practice & Research, Advocacy & Communications and Membership & Events.
