We are currently recruiting for an Instrumentation Technician for our growing service business in Kitimat and Western Canada. The successful candidate will be based out of our new Kitimat Service Centre, and will report to the Manager, Valve Service in Kitimat. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to receive further training and advancement opportunities. Spartan Controls offers a competitive and unique compensation package as well as is actively involved in the communities we serve.

The successful candidate must be based out of or willing to relocate to Kitimat, British Columbia , as the standard shift for this role is Monday thru Friday.

 

Role and Responsibilities
  • Repair, service, testing, and calibration on a variety of Spartan and 3rd party products
  • Field/Inline Repair and service when required
  • Pick stock to fulfill customer orders
  • Assist with the assembly of orders
  • Provide product telephone support for internal and external customers
  • Inspect, verify and process customer credit orders
  • Operate both the forklift and crane
  • Participate in overtime as required to meet customers’ demands
  • Maintain a safe work environment and actively participate in Spartan’s safety culture
  • Participation in our 24/7 on call rotation

     
Qualifications and Skills
  • Diploma from a 2-year Instrumentation Technology program, Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician, or Instrumentation Apprentice
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and skills
  • Previous experience with SAP is considered an asset
  • Adaptability to provide support to different areas as required
  • Outstanding commitment to customer service
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Physically able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Minimum Class 5 Valid driver's license and willing to travel, if required
  • This position has been deemed as Safety Sensitive - successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment Alcohol and Drug test, and as required for customer site access.
