The Bar Lead position is integral to delivering outstanding service, maintaining Trading Post standards, and fostering a fun and safe atmosphere for both guests and team members. Position Purpose As a Bar Lead, you are a committed, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will train bar and waitstaff, oversee operations to ensure that guests receive excellent service, and manage bar inventory, quality controls, and resources. You'll also collaborate with management to meet business objectives, increase profits, and maximize guest satisfaction. To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills. You will also need to adapt to challenges and work effectively with a diverse team and clientele. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Manage all business aspects of the bar, ensuring Trading Post recipes, procedures, and standards are upheld. Hold bar staff accountable to Trading Post standards. Take inventory, reorder supplies, and manage costs to meet financial targets. Staff Training and Development: Train bar and waitstaff to deliver exceptional service to guests. Ensure all training materials and processes are being followed consistently. Support bar staff with ongoing mentorship and professional development. Team and Guest Relations: Foster a positive and safe atmosphere for both staff and guests. Work with diverse personalities, addressing concerns with professionalism and care. Diffuse tense situations to prevent potential safety or legal issues, and take action when necessary. Collaboration with Management: Assist the General Manager with staffing and scheduling needs. Report issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions efficiently. Support the Beverage Manager with menu development, costing, and pairing suggestions. Collaborate with the bar team to create feature cocktails. Bar Maintenance: Ensure bar equipment is in good working condition, keeping up with repairs and maintenance as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area. Qualifications Previous experience in a leadership role within the food and beverage industry (recommended). Strong knowledge of bar operations, drink recipes, and service standards. Serving It Right (or equivalent certification). Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
