Our client has an immediate opening for a Technical Solutions Manager – ESG to join their team in Vancouver.In your new role as a Technical Solutions Manager, you are responsible for the technical product management for ESG and Sustainability related solutions that are based on integration of digital platform with 3rd party technologies. These responsibilities include understanding sensor, monitoring and reporting technologies related to Scope 1 emissions for mobile mining (and potentially other) equipment and technologies related to overall mining site GHG and related environmental emission reduction, technical relationships with other 3rd party ESG ecosystem partners that access machine data from digital platform/Readyline.io or other data sources and provide value-added analytics back to the parent company for use in ESG related digital solutions to customers and dealers. You will be the parent company representative and will collaborate with other companies within the Group and Ecosystem Partner technical teams to ensure successful branded Sustainability solutions to dealers and customers, will help evaluate the technical capabilities of potential acquisition (M&A) candidates and startup investment opportunities, including confidential due diligence investigations and eventual testing with early adopter customers as part of the Proof of Value process. Skills most aligned with this position are similar to a customer oriented Technical Product Manager with real world experience in ESG based technologies, particularly relating to GHG reduction solutions for industrial (particularly mining) operators:Joint technical planning with the Group of companies and 3rd Party ESG technology partnersDocumentation and evaluation of technical requirements to retrieve/store Scope 1 sustainability related machine data provided by Group company Readyline.io IoT platform and other customer or 3rd party data sourcesDocumentation and planning for sharing machine data with 3rd party cloud partners via APIs and receiving and integrating value-added analytics and insights from those partners back into digital solutions to deliver value to customers and dealersEvaluation of technical capabilities of ESG/Sustainability related 3rd party solutions for the purpose of joint solution offering to customers, startup Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) investment and M&A due diligence processes. Responsibilities:Work with the Digital Strategy and Proof of Value team and group/partner company technical product management to define technical requirements for ESG offerings, both in terms of applications/technologies and servicesWork with dealers and customers to understand technical requirements to inform GHG reduction/sustainability solution roadmap, and work with Proof of Value (POV) team to plan testing with lead customers and dealers for initial early adopter versions of branded ESG solutions and service offerings.Plan and Document requirements for capturing and securely sharing machine data and analytical insights (starting with mobile and fixed plant mining operations equipment, ERP and other data sources) between stakeholders and 3rd party ecosystem partners.Evaluate and document technical capabilities of 3rd party solutions as part of the Proof of Value early adoption testing, CVC investment and M&A due diligence processes.Key Deliverables:ESG digital solution technical roadmap including key features and services with anticipated timelines (based on collaboration with key stakeholders, group companies and 3rd party technology providers). This includes working with Digital Strategy team members on potential ecosystem technical roadmapWork with customers, dealers and technology partners to document technical requirements to implement Proof of Value testing with early adopter customers. Document technical feedback from dealers and customers from PoV testing in collaboration with Customer Experience specialists (Voice of Customer), Solution Managers and validate with stakeholders (customers, dealers, internal team, technology providers and 3rd party ecosystem partners)Create technology assessments and reports on technology partners including technical assessments, technical roadmap requirements and fit to overall solution strategy.Experience and Knowledge: 5-10 years Technical Product Management or related experience in ESG, Sustainability, GHG reductionExperience identifying and working with Industrial IoT and/or cloud-based ecosystem partners including creation of APIs and technical planning for customer deployments around sustainability solutionsExperience creating and delivering presentations to both technical and business audiences, including value proposition around ESG/SustainabilityPrevious experience with sustainability technologies and services for mining or similar industrial markets (e.g. oil and gas, transportation etc.) Fluency in English is a mustSkills and Abilities: Ability to understand business problems and how to apply technology and services to meet problemsProactive technical problem solver, with strong ability to map technologies to business prioritiesExposure to sustainability processes and practices including technical data gathering, monitoring and reportingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent active listener and consultative communicator with strong partnership skillsProven self-starter with ability to turn objectives into actions and resultsStrong integrity and team player in support of Group of companies and 3rd party ecosystem culture EDUCATION REQUIRED:Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering or similar technology degree specializing in Sustainability technologies TRAVEL REQUIRED: Travel of up to 10% may be required (must have a valid passport and legally be able to travel internationally if required)LEADERSHIP: Independently productive and requires minimal supervision. The Technical Product Manager is expected to take ownership of their work and assignments and be responsible to see them through to completion. Technical thought leadership to customers, partners and solution team members is expected.
