Cloud Platform Engineer – Azure & Automation Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Cloud Platform Engineer with extensive programming abilities with Python, Typescript or NodeJS, an in-depth cloud background with Azure and AWS, and DevOps experience to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. Client: Big Five Bank Terms: Contract through October 2026. Location: Hybrid twice a month is preferred with an office in Downtown Toronto. however open to remote for the right candidate with EST working hours. Project: The Bank is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support the Bank’s cloud strategy, which is focused on innovation and leveraging rapidly emerging cloud native services to meet the rapidly evolving needs of their customers. The Cloud DevOps Automation Team is focused on the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of the core Cloud Platforms across the Bank. The Cloud Platform Engineer will help evolve the core cloud platform, by leveraging emerging best practices and tools, securely connecting to our strategic cloud suppliers, providing a platform for innovation for the entire Bank. Job Description: Design, implement and integrate the bank’s Cloud Platform, core, and shared services. Design, implement and manage hybrid cloud connectivity and intra-cloud networking. Develop patterns for automated provisioning, management, scalability, and security. Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance standards and controls. Be the major contributor to IaC modules: develop new modules, maintain existing modules. Design and plan enterprise-scale cloud environments including application dependencies, data storage and flow, network connectivity and overall cloud hosting. Develop and maintain up-to-date architectural templates, build an operational documentation of the technical environment. Continuously enhance the capability, security, and experience of the enterprise Hybrid cloud. Technical Requirements: Extensive experience in the following tools and technologies: Typescript NodeJS Python AWS CDK Terraform Cloud Formation CICD Open Policy Agent/Policy as Code Container – EKS – Kubernetes – ECS – Docker Azure DevOps pipeline design and architecture Github Actions CircleCI Jenkins Agile Framework Linux Extensive cloud platform experience and skills: Certifications in AWS and/or Azure. DynomoDB ECS Lambda – Serverless Step Functions Cognito API Gateway IAM Azure DevOps WebApp AKS ACI Key Vault SQL MI Interview Process: Interviews will take place in two rounds with a technical screening component.
