Led by a team of mining executives with operational and development experience and proven success in creating value, Allied Gold aspires to become a mid-tier next generation gold producer in Africa and ultimately a leading senior global gold producer.Summary of the PositionThe Manager, Resource Modelling and Estimation will be responsible for planning and executing mineral resource modelling and estimation activities in support of Allied Gold’s mining operations, development projects, and exploration. This position can be located in either Ontario or West Africa (Mali, Côte d’Ivoire).Job ResponsibilitiesWork within a Corporate Technical Services team to support existing operations, development projects, and exploration.Review analytical quality control (QAQC) procedures and results, and audit the quality of all geological data inputs, to ensure highest standards in data integrity.Peer review of three-dimensional geology models and generate appropriate domains for mineral resource estimation.Perform geostatistical analysis and mineral resource estimation for resource and reserve evaluation. Optimize short-term grade control modelling processes for existing operations and generate models to support mine planning and execution.Oversee mine reconciliation activities and contribute to continuous improvement. Contribute to training and support of existing operations and exploration geology teams in modelling and estimation.Contribute to NI 43-101 Technical Reports for existing operations, development projects and exploration properties to ensure the documents and disclosure meets Allied Gold’s standards.Take responsibility as Qualified Person on existing operations, development projects, and exploration properties and sign off on NI 43-101 reports.Manage external geological consultants on project specific needs.Continually seek out technological advancements to better execute exploration, development, and mining activities.Job RequirementsQualificationsThis position requires a minimum education of a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology. This position requires a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience, with at least three (3) years of practical experience in mineral resource estimation in a mining operational environment.Professional Geoscientist in good standing with a Canadian professional association. Must be registered, or meet the requirements to register, with Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO) to allow for sign-off on NI 43-101 reports and documents.Technical Competencies and SkillsExperience with gold mineralization settings, especially orogenic gold systems, at mining operations and/or field exploration projects.Experience in mine geology, preferably at open pit operations, with exposure to data acquisition, grade control practices, and developing models for short and long term mine planning.Advanced user of geostatistical and mineral resource estimation software such as GSLib, Datamine Studio RM, Isatis, or Vulcan.Experience in the use of a three-dimensional modeling software such as Leapfrog Geo.Experience and understanding of analytical quality control measures and analytical methods.Experience with NI 43-101 report writing and compilation.Ability to mentor and develop the skills of other geologists within the organization.Effective at communicating complex problems both in writing and orally and possess good presentation skills.Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work effectively with minimal supervision.Ability to travel occasionally to Allied Gold’s operations and offices.Fluent in English. French proficiency would be an asset.
