This role will cover a broad scope of indirect and direct materials for the operation as well as sourcing new materials working closely with Customers, Operations and Product Development.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Negotiate purchase agreements for all bulk orders, commodities, and raw materials, packaging and direct spend.Conduct marketplace analysis to identify purchasing opportunities and alternativesSource and approve new suppliers and vendorsManage inventory levels to optimize purchasing performance and working capitalEstablish strong relationship with vendors to develop profitable business opportunities;Work cross functionally with all departments including; Finance / Logistics / Operations and Quality to understand requirements and to ensure procurement strategy is well aligned to common goalsStrong leadership and communication skills to drive vision / direction for procurement / buying in the organization.Build and track reports for key metrics and Key Performance IndicatorsUtilize technology to work within multiple systems and identify opportunities for process improvementsCollaborate with other members of the team as well as colleagues in Production to facilitate any changes that will be required. Ideal Qualifications & Competencies:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or similar certification in a relevant field.5-7 years’ experience in Procurement or Purchasing, Supply Chain and Project Management experience is an asset.2-3+ years’ experience working with Ingredients, Packaging, Food industry is ideal.Exceptional organization skills and attention to detailStrong leadership and a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong multi-tasking capabilities.Team player with leadership skills who can make independent decisions.
