Someone senior who can own the installation, configuration, security, and troubleshooting for our data applications and services.We are in search of a seasoned Senior Platform Support Engineer to take ownership of the installation, configuration, security, and troubleshooting of our suite of data applications and services. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and performance of our data platforms, ensuring that our systems are optimized, secure, and align with our business continuity plans.Responsibilities:Lead the installation and configuration of data applications and services across various environments.Take full ownership of the end-to-end platform support, including proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.Implement and maintain robust security measures, ensuring the integrity and protection of data and adherence to compliance standards.Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment processes and support the continuous integration and delivery pipeline.Carry out performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and service records.Establish backup and recovery procedures and ensure disaster recovery and failover procedures are in place and regularly tested.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members and act as a point of escalation for complex support issues.Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in platform support and data management. Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.A minimum of 7 years of experience in a platform support/engineering role with a focus on data applications and services.In-depth knowledge of system architecture, networking, and security best practices.Proficient in scripting languages for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.On-call availability for addressing critical issues outside of standard business hours.Experience with configuration management (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible).Experience working with security protocols (i.e. OAuth, SCIM, Key Vaults, TLS, IDM).Experience with data orchestration platforms like Apache Airflow.Familiarity with various software development processes and methodologies, especially related to ETL.Desire to continuously discover, experiment with, and evaluate new technologies
