Job Title: Senior Software Engineering Manager Location: Toronto, Ontario Type: Full Time Our Client is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple teams in building innovative, scalable solutions that enhance customer experience and reduce risk. This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with strategic leadership while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. What You’ll Do: Directly and indirectly lead 2+ engineering teams to deliver resilient, high-performing applications. Drive talent development, succession planning, and team-building initiatives while promoting diversity and inclusion. Champion software craftsmanship and ensure availability, scalability, and system resiliency. Stay ahead of technology trends, experiment with emerging tools, and mentor engineers across the organization. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to influence strategy and roadmaps. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. 4+ years of experience leading teams in an Agile environment. 4+ years of direct people leadership experience, including performance management and talent development. 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience. Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices (security, automated testing, CI/CD, high availability). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Familiarity with mobile architecture for iOS and Android. Exposure to financial services or technology industry. Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field. Proven ability to influence senior business and product stakeholders. Experience managing relationships with business or product stakeholders and external partners. Background in building customer-facing and enterprise web applications.
