As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting automated equipment, machinery, and systems used in the manufacturing process. This role requires a strong understanding of PLC programming, mechanical systems, and electronics to ensure seamless production.


Job Role & Responsibilities


System Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Automation equipment and Plant systems, detect equipment malfunctions, and adjust machines to ensure efficiency and quality of production.
  • Perform emergency troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Inspect, repair, and calibrate automation equipment including PLCs and robotic devices.
  • Ensure continuous operation of production lines by diagnosing and addressing issues swiftly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts.


Support & Collaboration:

  • Provide technical support to other departments throughout shift.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in training operators on the safe and efficient use of automation equipment.


Reporting & Documentation:

  • Create periodic reports on machine inspections, issues, and resolutions.
  • Document equipment performance and maintenance activities in the CMMS.
  • Prepare recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Adhere to all OSHA and internal EHS guidelines.
  • Report accidents, unsafe acts, and defective equipment promptly. Qualifications/ Skills:


Education & Experience:

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in automation, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of fluid power, manufacturing processes, and industrial electronics.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred).
  • Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment including controls and pneumatics
  • Ability to fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during machine setup, maintenance, or overhaul.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment – Forklift, Scissor Lift, Sky- jack


Preferred skills:

  • Solid understanding of Ethernet communication and control logic.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
