Position:
We are currently looking for a Commercial Roofing Site Superintendent to join our growing Calgary team. Projects vary from repairs on high end residential to large commercial projects. Main roof systems include SBS, TPO, PVC, and EPDM. May also include BUR, Inverted with Hot Rubber and Cold Applied.
Our Ideal candidate will be a reliable and responsible person who can work efficiently in a team atmosphere, using their knowledge and skills to achieve the task at hand. A safe professional mentality and solid work ethic are important to our company culture.
Minimum experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as journeyman foreman roofer or roofing site super
- High level skill required in blueprint reading, estimate take off and specification
- 80% of our work flow is based on new construction, previous work experience with Calgary known general contractors is an asset
- Be familiar with all roofing systems
- Valid driver’s license
Safety Tickets:
- CSTS, WHMIS and Fall Pro - required
- Torch Safety, Ariel Platform, Forklift, Zoom Boom, First Aid, Etc. - asset

Work schedule:
- 5:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday
- Please note this position will require overtime and is not on a fix schedule and will mostly be based on workflow.
- In some instances, an after-hour call or emergency situation may also be required.
- If the selected candidate is successful in planning and running such a division in an efficient manner, the management team will be open to a revised flexible schedule.
Tasks/ Responsibilities:
- Handle the day-to-day activities of 10 different roofing crews (this can change based on work flow)
- Attend all pre-start meetings and required production meetings
- Ensure QA and QC of all crews is followed and properly implemented
- Request submittals and close out packages from project coordinator and assist as needed
- Create weekly schedule with assistance of roofing site supervisors
- Oversee all project from start to finish including handling all change orders and site instructions.
- Review project financials on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure our roofing division run efficiently as whole
- This position will report directly to the President and will have a project coordinator to assist him/her
- Responsible for final hiring candidate selection
- Work with various departments within the company. IE…Safety, Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting
- Training in specific situations such as on the job instructions as you inspect and see better ways to complete the project- Scopes, pricing, POs, etc.
- Comply with all United Roofing Inc. general and safety policies, procedures, and practices.
