Job Summary
The Vice President of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate reporting for owners, external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders. Key duties include financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and managing the preparation of financial reports.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise the Accounting Manager and review journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and statutory reporting.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
- Approve and authorize closing adjustments for home sales.
- Act as the signing authority for all closing documents in coordination with legal teams.
- Collaborate with staff to assess and improve current financial processes.
- Provide financial analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors, lawyers, bankers, and company owners.
- Prepare year-end working papers.
- Negotiate financing packages with owners and financial institutions.
- Lead financial planning and manage the procurement of funds for the organization.
- Prepare monthly financial reports to meet financing requirements.
- Prepare and present financial information to key stakeholders.
- Develop project budgets.
- Assist the President with the management of rental properties.
- Recommend or establish major company policies in coordination with management.
- Advise management on property and liability insurance coverage needs.
- Adhere to guidelines and policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Foster a positive work environment by sharing expertise and contributing knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working within finance and accounting
- 5+ years of experience within the construction of residential/commercial and/or industrial industry
- CPA or equivalent accounting designation
