Our client, a leading Tier 1 manufacturing supplier is looking for a HR Generalist / Labour Relations to join their team.NOTE:12-month contract; potential for long term employmentRESPONSIBILITIES: Supporting both employees and leadership across all HR functions through strong labour relation buildingInvestigate grievances following collective agreementConduct and document workplace investigations regarding performance, misconduct, and/or harassment, and provide recommendationsProvide guidance to Supervisors on employee relations matters, including attendance, misconduct, collective agreement interpretation, and policy applicationPerforming full-cycle recruitment for salaried and hourly positions, including onboarding and orientationCoordinate employee training, certification requirements, and workshopsDeliver training sessions for both hourly employees and managementManage absenteeism reporting and case management for WSIB and STD/LTD claimsOversee accommodation and return-to-work processes in compliance with legislationDevelop, organize, and implement employee engagement and community initiativesAnalyze HR processes and recommend improvementsParticipate in continuous improvement activitiesPromote and model a safe, positive, and inclusive workplace cultureREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Post-secondary education in Human Resources; CHRP designation (or actively pursuing) preferredMinimum 5 years of HR experience in a unionized environment; manufacturing experience is an assetAt least 3 years of experience in labour relations building and grievance or employee behaviour investigationsMinimum of 3 years of experience conducting full-cycle hourly and salaried recruitment3+ years of experience managing WSIB and STD/LTD claimsStrong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA)Experience leading employee engagement initiativesExcellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and facilitation skillsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ADP and Synerion is an asseHighly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focusedAbility to work onsite at the plant full-timeMEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
