Job Description

We are looking for a Human Resources Advisor who will be responsible for providing coaching and advice to managers and employees in employee relations and in the application of the various other areas of human resources. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of managers’ skills and provide advice, support and coaching regarding the application of employee relations, compensation, benefits, recruitment, performance and talent management policies and

programs.

You will work a 5-day work week schedule and will report directly to the Manager of Human Resources, Atlantic Energy and Minerals in the Human Resources sector, you will have the following duties:

  • Provide operational leaders with specific and judicious advice on employee relations with regard to case management, investigation processes, grievance and litigation resolution,complaints and policy application while ensuring alignment with the employee relations strategy;
  • Provide advice on the interpretation and application of collective agreements and employment legislation obligations and policies;
  • Provide local operational human resources advice and services to managers and employees;
  • Influence human resources decisions of establishments/business units based on the HR service delivery model;
  • Proactively review operational performance practices and metrics and develop strategies and initiatives to enhance capabilities, effectiveness and efficiency
  • Manage engagement initiatives in a spirit of collaboration at the regional level;
  • Support HR leaders and business partners in recurring annual activities, such as salary reviews, talent reviews and performance management;
  • Provide support for special projects and other initiatives (e.g. employee engagement/mobilization, performance and capacity improvement, change management);
  • Provide advice on HR policies and procedures and guide clients through the various HR departments.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations or a related field;
  • 3 years of experience in industrial & employee relations
  • Experience working in an industrial and unionized environment;
  • Knowledge of provincial labour and employment standards and provincial human rights legislation;
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook);
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and basic knowledge of English.
