Position Summary:

Microserve is seeking a Director of IT to spearhead the Business Systems Management (BSM) team, focusing on application support, automation efforts, and high-impact IT initiatives, such as ERP and Data Warehouse Solutions. The role involves partnering with stakeholders to align IT strategies with business objectives, fostering innovation, and ensuring adherence to governance and security standards. Additionally, the position will drive strategic initiatives utilizing Power Platform tools and Azure technologies to optimize business processes and fuel organizational growth.


Microserve Internal IT


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Systems Management (BSM) team, including application support for Connectwise, Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations, and other Line of Business applications.
  • Oversee an automation team focused on building PowerApps and automations using Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate to solve business challenges.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders of each of Microserve’s business units to understand individual business needs and drive IT initiatives that align with company goals.
  • Implement and manage the Power Platform Center of Excellence to ensure best practices and effective use of Power Platform tools.
  • Supervise the early stages of implementing a new ERP system based on Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations; and lead the implementation from a technology management and ongoing support perspective.
  • Lead the implementation of a Data Warehouse solution in collaboration with an external vendor, utilizing Azure Data Factory and related technologies.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the OE Analytics team, focusing on data and reporting solutions based on Power BI.
  • Partner with Microserve’s Managed Services and Professional Services teams for infrastructure-related initiatives and strategic technology projects.
  • Ensure the successful integration and utilization of technology to enhance business processes and support organizational growth.
  • Stay current with technological advancements and industry trends to ensure the continuous improvement of IT services and solutions
  • Work closely with Microserve leadership to plan, design, and implement the overall IT strategy for our clients. This includes developing technology roadmaps with business case justification and budget proposals.
  • Develop technology risk planning and management strategies for Microserve that help reduce overall risk and increase ROI of in-use technologies.
  • Define and monitor the implementation of IT and security controls, governance, and
  • compliance for our Microserve
  • Develop innovative solutions and research technologies on behalf of client organizations and their individual needs, including documenting and presenting business cases to achieve buy in
  • Analyzing requests and specific business needs presented by business units and then
  • researching, recommending, designing, and implementing technology solutions as per
  • the agreed technology plan
  • Overseeing and coordinating IT related project initiatives for clients; including scope
  • development in alignment with business requirements, functional deliverables, schedule
  • and milestone planning, project execution, and post-mortems and lessons learned.
  • Supporting clients with oversight on their cyber security governance, controls, policies
  • and compliance.
  • Coordinating the development of IT controls, policies and procedures (specifically related to IT infrastructure, security, and disaster recovery) and implementing best practices across the companies that you support as clients of Microserve.
  • Developing and implementing the underlying organization’s Disaster Recovery Plans and data archiving strategies as they pertain to IT for applicable clients; based on business requirements
  • Developing and managing a budget for technology, IT services, and personnel
  • Creating status reports and/or quarterly department updates and presenting findings to senior leadership and executive leadership on an as required basis.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management or a similar role, with a proven track record of leading successful IT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools such as Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate.
  • Experience with Power Platform tools, including PowerApps and Power BI; including related certifications
  • Proven experience in managing large scale / high risk projects such as ERP implementations or Data Warehouse projects.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve their best performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities and dozens of stakeholders effectively.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar industry or organization size (E.g. 500 or more end users minimum; 250M + in revenue)
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations, Connectwise, and other Line of Business applications.
  • Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or relevant Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365

  • Reports to the VP of Professional Services
  • This position will have 5 direct reports; each of the client delivery managers and the NOC Manager
  • Key internal interactions: NOC Manager, PS Manager, Cyber Security Specialist, Sales (inside and outside sales), VP Sales, VP Technical Services
