Data Migration Consultant

Robert Half is seeking a temporary IT Consultant to support our client in migrating and validating their email archiving solution. This is a future opportunity for an upcoming project, and we are building a pipeline of qualified professionals in anticipation of project launch.This remote contract position requires a motivated individual with strong communication skills, a solid understanding of IT infrastructure, and the ability to guide clients through migration and validation processes.As part of the project, you will work primarily with the Proofpoint Archive platform. While prior experience with the product is not required, it is highly valued. You will work remotely, assisting clients over Zoom or other telephony software. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for this role, as you'll be advising clients throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Assist clients in the migration and validation processes of email archiving systems.Clearly explain technical processes and migration steps to non-technical stakeholders.Provide guidance and troubleshooting assistance to clients over Zoom or similar telephony platforms.Work with the Proofpoint Archive platform, learning its features and assisting clients in its implementation.Collaborate with internal and client teams to ensure smooth execution of the project.Provide ongoing support and advice related to the migration and implementation of solutions.Required Skills & Qualifications:Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to explain complex IT concepts in a clear and accessible manner to clients.Strong experience with Microsoft products such as Exchange Online (EXO), Azure Active Directory (AAD), and PowerShell, particularly in administration.Basic to intermediate networking skills, including understanding of firewalls, switches, etc.Knowledge of email archiving requirements and solutions is an asset.Familiarity with AWS basics, including server management and VM setup.Understanding of authentication protocols (e.g., SAML) and API protocols.Ability to work remotely and effectively guide clients through technical processes.Additional Desired Experience (Not Required but Preferred):Familiarity with the Proofpoint Archive platform (prior experience not required but preferred).Basic knowledge of APIs (custom development will not be required).Screening Process:Please note that AI-based tools may be used to assist in the screening and evaluation of candidates during the hiring process.
