Our client, a rapidly growing FoodTech company transforming the office catering experience, is seeking an HR Generalist to help shape and elevate the employee journey. Operating across Ontario, Alberta, and BC, the company has been recognized for multiple years as one of Canada’s fastest-growing startups.This is a remote-first role, with access to a physical office space for those who prefer an in-person work environment.As the first dedicated HR team member, you will lead onboarding, engagement, and employee operations. This is a high-impact opportunity to lay the foundation for people processes in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOnboarding & RecruitmentDevelop and manage onboarding plans for new hiresEnsure team members have the tools and support they need to succeedCollaborate on hiring plans, write job descriptions, and screen candidatesEmployee Experience & EngagementDesign and lead programs that foster engagement and culture in a remote environmentPromote cross-functional collaboration and celebrate key milestonesCoordinate performance reviews and development check-insPeople Operations & ComplianceServe as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and supportAdminister HRIS (Rippling), maintain employee records, and generate reportsKeep policies compliant with legislation and aligned with company valuesSupport team leads in coaching and performance managementQualifications2+ years of experience in an HR rolePrevious experience in a startup is an assetStrong initiative, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independentlyComfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environmentBenefitsCompetitive salary with performance-based incentivesCompany-wide health benefitsFlexible remote work environmentGrowth and career development opportunitiesCollaborative and innovative team culture
