Location: Montréal, QC (Need Onsite day 1, Hybrid 3 days from office, No Remote).

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified Scrum Master with a strong background as a Business Analyst in the Capital Markets domain, specifically focusing on Equities and Derivatives. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of data projects, particularly in areas such as Data Lineage, Data Governance, and Data Attestation. This role requires a proactive leader who can facilitate Agile practices and foster a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

Agile Leadership:

  • Serve as a Scrum Master to facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coach and mentor the team in Agile methodologies, ensuring adherence to Scrum values and principles.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

Business Analysis:

  • Leverage Business Analyst experience to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to data projects.
  • Support the team in understanding business needs and translating them into actionable tasks.

Data Project Management:

  • Oversee data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance and adherence to data quality standards.
  • Manage and monitor data lineage processes, ensuring transparency and traceability of data flows.

Technical Skills:

  • Utilize SQL for data querying, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making processes.
  • Apply Python programming skills to automate repetitive tasks or enhance data-related processes (preferred but not mandatory).

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement strategies to optimize team performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Reporting and Metrics:

  • Track and report on team performance metrics, aiding in transparency and accountability.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and impediments.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 6-8 years of experience in the Capital Markets domain, with a focus on Equities and Derivatives.
  • Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is mandatory.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in SQL for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Experience with Python programming is a plus.


Soft Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working on data lineage, data governance, and data attestation projects.
  • Familiarity with other Agile frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Lean) is advantageous.
