Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent with a specialization in demolition to join our client for a high-rise project in Hamilton. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing demolition activities within the context of high-rise construction projects. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, adhering to timelines, budgets, and safety standards.


Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate closely with the Superintendent to plan, schedule, and oversee all demolition activities on the high-rise project.
  2. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely execution of demolition tasks.
  3. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety protocols.
  4. Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  5. Manage project documentation, including permits, licenses, and reports related to demolition activities.
  6. Provide leadership and guidance to site personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  7. Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the demolition phase, working closely with project stakeholders to find effective solutions.
  8. Assist in the coordination of logistics, material deliveries, and equipment utilization to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  9. Participate in project meetings, providing updates on demolition progress, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
  10. Support the Superintendent in any additional tasks or responsibilities as required to ensure the successful completion of the project.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, with a focus on demolition within high-rise projects.
  3. Proven track record of successfully managing demolition activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
  4. Strong understanding of construction methods, techniques, and best practices, particularly in the context of high-rise buildings.
  5. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  6. Sound knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to promoting a culture of safety on-site.
  7. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  8. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
