Field/Laboratory Technician - Part time / Full Time / Seasonal
Construction Materials Testing company looking to add another technician to our team. We are looking for somebody reliable who understands the importance of teamwork and communication to ensure the success of our company. The successful candidate must show initiative and be comfortable working independently.
The Position:
· Travel to various construction sites throughout the lower mainland and carry out testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with ASTM/CSA test methods.
· Work in the laboratory ( carry out CSA/ASTM test methods on concrete, soil and asphalt. )
· Keep organized and detailed records of test results
· Maintain a positive rapport and working relationship with new and existing clients
· Demonstrate responsibility for personal safety; attend site specific safety orientation as required
Previous experience (2+ years) in a similar role preferred. However, training will be provided for the right individual.
Required:
· Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license. NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE A VALID BC DRIVER’S LICENSE TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION
· Strong communication skills; ability to speak/read/write fluently in English. A basic understanding of math.
· Some heavy lifting required; must be physically fit and able to carry moderately heavy (approx. 50 lbs) equipment over rough terrain, into/out of trenches, etc.
Qualifications:
Pay based on experience, knowledge, certification and fit. ($20-28/hr).
