Kitchener, Canada Grand River Personnel Limited Full time

Our client in Waterloo Region is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator with 1-2 years of experience to join their team in a full-time role


If you have 1-2 years experience in Health and Safety in manufacturing, then you could be the recipient of this position with a salary between 60-70K plus benefits, vacation.


Required Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in manufacturing
  • Experience with safety programs such as Lockout Tagout, hazard communication, and emergency response.
  • Strong knowledge of OHSA and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct presentations confidently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and still be a great team member
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all government rules and regulations
  • Support the implementation of safety programs, including Lockout Tagout, machine guarding, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards-recommend corrective actions
  • Develop training materials, deliver safety training sessions for all employees and maintain records
  • Assist in investigating workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and recommend preventive actions
  • Analyze safety data to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in safety audits and regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
  • Maintain safety records and documentation as required by law
  • Support the development and maintenance of emergency response
  • Coordinate emergency drills and ensure all employees are trained on emergency procedures
  • Promote a positive safety culture within the organization through communication, training, and recognition programs.
  • Work with management and employees to foster a proactive approach to safety
  • Participate in the JHSC and contribute to ongoing safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned
