You’ll help one of Canada's most trusted organizations work on the latest project, and be rewarded with great opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for migrating enterprise Java applications from Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) to Oracle WebLogic Server. This role involves analyzing existing deployments, updating configuration files, and ensuring compatibility with WebLogic architecture. Key tasks include:Deployment Descriptor Conversion: Replace OC4J-specific files (e.g., orion-web.xml, orion-ejb-jar.xml) with WebLogic equivalents.Library & Class Loading Management: Configure application libraries and XML parsers to avoid conflicts.External Configuration Handling: Use WebLogic deployment plans for loading custom configuration files.Data Source Migration: Create and configure JDBC data sources in WebLogic.Tool Utilization: Leverage Oracle SmartUpgrade and JDeveloper for automated migration and compatibility checks.Domain Reconfiguration: Update WebLogic domains using Reconfiguration Wizard or WLST scripting.Testing & Deployment: Validate application functionality post-migration and ensure performance standards.Must Haves:Strong knowledge of J2EE, OC4J, and WebLogic ServerExperience with XML configuration, deployment descriptors, and Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, JAXB)Familiarity with Oracle tools (SmartUpgrade, JDeveloper)Understanding of middleware, JDBC, and enterprise integrationAbout Drake International:Since 1951, Drake International has been a global leader in flexible and permanent staffing, connecting people with the right roles at any career stage, both in Canada and worldwide.
