A large telecommunications client of ours in Toronto is looking to hire a DevOps Technical Coach to join their team. Below will be a list of responsibilities and requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Help teams Upskilling and adopt DevOps Best Practices
  • Help development team onboard to the Golden CI/CD Template
  • Collaborate with the program team to enhance & Customize the Golden Pipeline based on the teams requirements
  • Provide DevOps Delivery coaching to teams on all aspects of the software delivery lifecycle Framework, with a strong focus on TDD, BDD and shifting left security compliance and removing Technical Debt.
  • Provide team and Product Ownership/scrum masters coaching around Product centricity and DevOps / Agile fundamental practices
  • Observes the team to understand and remove impediments keeping the team from operating effectively as a DevOps / Agile team
  • Work closely with the team and Identify opportunities for automation
  • Create training materials relative to specific DevOps training needs
  • Participate in enterprise DevOps transformation team efforts



Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working within a DevOps environment with expertise in infrastructure-as-code and understanding of software/application development
  • 8+ years expertise in cloud platforms (AWS / GCP & OpenStack)
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure provisioning tools (Terraform\ )
  • Experience with Docker containers and container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and/or leading a team and able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Deep understanding of the DevOps philosophy and Agile methods
  • Automating traditional processes with scripting or configuration management
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems, debug code, and coach on how to automate routine tasks
  • Experience of the full software delivery lifecycle and deep Knowledge of Software Engineering work, DevOps, TDD, CI/CD
  • An analytic spirit who sees a product/system as a series of small deliverables who has the ability to transfer this vision through workshops (story mapping, customer journey etc.)
  • Strong experience on leading large projects, transformation efforts, process improvements, product implementations, systems development and integration efforts




Compensation:

$130K - $160K per year + full benefits packages

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability, life insurance and AD&D. Employees will also have access to a registered retirement savings account with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
