THE POSITION
CHS has an opening for a Fundraising Organizer (Canada Summer Jobs). This is an 8-week summer position where the candidate will work in cooperation with department staff to provide a variety of research, training, and office supports. Reporting to the program-specific supervisor/manager. This will be a remote position supporting our Marketing and Communications Department.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct Fundraising prospecting research and support grant applications.
- Assist with post-event stewardship of annual golf tournament.
- Lead the efforts to procure prizing for the fall silent auction.
- Assist in the organization of office documents, archives, and projects, e.g., recordkeeping/reporting, updating documents, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and, have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of CRM Raiser’s Edge 7 and/or NXT is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to details required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a highly confidential environment.
- Previous experience working with Culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened or hard of hearing individuals an asset.
- American Sign Language (ASL) skills an asset.
- French language skills an asset.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
This is an 8-week contract during the period of June 10, 2024, to August 2, 2024, working 30 hours per week.
CHS requires you to be legally eligible for employment in Canada (Proof of legal ability to work in Canada will be required if a contingent offer of employment is made.)
