Iris's client, one of the world's largest multinational Investment banking and financial services corporations, is looking to hire an AWS Cloud Data Architect for a Long-Term opportunity.Work location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid Onsite – 3 days a week)Job description:Design, provision, and implement end-to-end data solutions leveraging AWS cloud services. Lead infrastructure architecture, collaborate with cloud engineering teams, and drive deployment in modern containerized environments (EKS/ECS). Responsibilities:Solution Design & Infrastructure ProvisioningCollaborate with cloud engineering and architecture teams to define and design scalable data infrastructure solutions on AWSArchitect, provision, and optimize cloud resources for high-performance ETL/data workflowsAWS Cloud Services ImplementationBuild and automate data pipelines using AWS S3, Glue, and Redshift servicesIntegrate AWS security, access management, and monitoring best practices into ETL workflowsPython DevelopmentDevelop, test, and optimize ETL/code solutions in Python for cloud-based data processingApply software engineering practices for robust, maintainable, and reusable cloud codebasesContainerized DeploymentArchitect and deploy solutions in Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS, focusing on container orchestration, scaling, and resilienceSet up CI/CD pipelines for container image management and automated deploymentCollaboration & Stakeholder ManagementWork closely with cloud infrastructure teams, architects, and business stakeholders for requirement gathering and solution presentationDocument architectural decisions, review designs, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards Required Skills & Experience:Advanced hands-on experience with AWS services: S3, Glue, RedshiftProficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and scriptingStrong understanding of cloud infrastructure provisioning (Terraform, CloudFormation preferred)Expertise in container platforms: Kubernetes (EKS), ECS; architectural exposure preferredExperience designing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutionsGood communication skills for working with cross-functional stakeholders
