Our non-profit client in Ottawa is looking for a Financial Professional with over 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. This hybrid position requires two days on-site in the Rockcliffe area and is available immediately. The role is a full-time, three-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Process routine accounts payable and manage payments via cheque runs, direct transfers, or wire transfers.
  • Handle routine accounts receivable transactions and make bank deposits.
  • Collaborate with the Development Team to reconcile donations, ensuring accurate deposit coding.
  • Generate invoices and receipts for donations as required.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and controls.
  • Maintain an organized electronic filing system for all accounting records.
  • Perform data entry tasks, including manual entry or electronic uploads of invoices, cheque requisitions, expense reports, and credit memos into accounting software, ensuring correct account codes and approvals.
  • Produce work outputs, including documents, spreadsheets, schedules, and communications to support both individual and departmental objectives.
  • Support the Finance Department's operations by ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Assist staff in using financial software (accounting software and related tools) as needed.
  • Support the bank reconciliation process as necessary.
  • Assist with annual audits, including preparing schedules and reports for specific programs and funders as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager

Required experience:

  • 3-5 years in financial administration, coordination, or accounts payable/accounts receivable.
  • Proficiency in Beanworks/Quadient, QuickBooks Online, and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with BMO payments, Asana, and Concur is desired
  • Experience working in a non-profit setting will be considered as an asset

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and has a passion for supporting non-profit financial operations.
