Title:Quality Assurance Analyst – 6 Month Contract
Reports to: Quality Assurance Team Lead
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Summitt Energy is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our growing team on a 6-month Contract (with possibility of extension) in our Information Technology Department. The position reports directly to our Senior Quality Assurance Analyst, Team Lead. The Quality Assurance Analyst role is 2-fold; initially responsible for documenting and testing market transaction sets and secondly, responsible for leading and defining test strategies for our automated Selenium solution. This role will include both the testing of new development and regression of existing logic.
WORK TYPE:
Hybrid – 3 days a week in the office
Location: Mississauga, ON, Canada
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with BA’s, POs and technical resources to develop detailed testing Strategies and Plans.
- Develop “Core” testing groups to use in automated testing strategies.
- Setup and run automated regression tests through our Selenium solution.
- Perform manual testing as needed. Including development of detailed test scripts/scenarios.
- Lead testing and quality assurance analysis as part of the project team.
- Lead triage during release cycles.
- Assist Business Analysts with requirements to help define success criteria.
- Understand, document and test inbound and outbound market transactions.
- Identify issues and escalate as appropriate; manage issue resolution as required.
- Participate in project scrums to define testing timelines and quality gates.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES:
- Quality Assurance Analyst must have at least 4+ years prior experience and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures related to Software Testing and IT projects.
- 2+ years automated testing experience with Selenium
- Undergraduate degree in science, engineering, computer science, business or other relevant discipline
- Ability to understand the effective application of technology to solve business problems.
- Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Experience in writing technical reports and other documentation.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize / triage existing and new system issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- TFS, JIRA, Confluence and Zephyr experience considered an asset.
- Ability to perform requested tasks with minimal direction.
- Ability to work independently or in a team, under tight timelines, with great attention to details.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required.
- Ability to quickly learn new software, both front and back end.
