Class I Administrative Assistant I

1.0 FTE/ 37.5 hours per week

Position to start for the 2024-2025 school year.

Responsible for administrative support performing a variety of duties for the Principal, Vice- Principals and school staff. Preference will b e given to those applicants who have experience in the following areas of duties and responsibilities which will be required for this position :

The ability to work in a high energy environment.

Creating, modifying and preparing documents

Organizing registration information

Good communication, organization and time-management skills as well an ability to work independently

have proficiency in using MS Office, PowerSchool, MHSD Intranet, MS Explorer and other operating systems.

have previous administrative support experience

have receptionist experience (meeting, greeting, and directing people, answering the telephone and giving messages to staff and students)

are proficient in using Google Docs, Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word and Outlook)

have an ability to work positively with students, staff, parents and outside service providers

can multi-task in a busy environment while being flexible and positive

have experience with maintaining, requesting and sending of student records

have experience with other related clerical duties such as, but not limited to photocopying, creating, modifying and preparing letters, memos, handbooks, newsletters, ordering and handling of all school supplies

Knowledge of FOIP

Supporting and guiding students to the most appropriate counselor or administrator based on student needs

Other skills desired:

Showing effective initiative and attention to detail

Diplomacy and tact

Planning and anticipating future needs of all stakeholders

Excellent organizational skills

Caring and dedicated

Office diploma or similar experience in a school environment
